I'm kind of going with the cops because he kept getting up when he was told to stay on the ground. Plus he was on drugs so im sure he couldnt tell what the police were saying to him. I think he got what he deserved.

Oh yeah receiving 56 blows from metal batons, some to the head, being kicked and stomped on multiple times plus being tazed twice is totally a controlled and reasonable response to a unarmed man not laying down. NO that is not a, in any way reasonable use of force and is police brutality

I think they police needed to use force just not as much as they did. He wasn't listening and getting down to the ground like they were asking. Once they got him to the ground though I don't think they needed to keep hitting him and kicking him. All they had to do was handcuff him and put him in the police car.

I think the police did what they needed to do because Rodney wasn't listening to their command.

Rodney King was wrongfully beaten. Even though he got out of his car after he ran away from the police, no one should be beaten enough that they have to go to the hospital.

I believe that the LAPD used excessive force on Rodney King because, they say that he wouldn't listen to the officers but when watching the video he would lay on the ground and they would still be beating him, and or kicking him in the head. They could have easily arrested him within the time they were beating him. I think they used deadly force because of the video clip.

I think that the police officers were using to much force because Rodney King was tazed 2 times and beaten with a baton until he couldn't move and he was not resisting arrest.

I believe Rodney King was innocent because the story the cops said was a completely different story the Rodney kings story. I believe that this situation should have never happened because the cops beat the crap out of him.

I think Rodney King is right. The police over reacted, he was hardly moving and they where still beating him. They over used there force. I do not think it was right and they should have went to jail.

The police used too much force and was betting him even though he didn't resist and got out of the car calmly he still got beaten and he was sent to the hospital for the sever injuries he got from the police. Unnecessary force.

I think that it was wrong for the cops to beat him up that much when he clearly was no longer resisting

The police shouldn't have used that much force. Yea, he was on drugs and i guess he was kind of resisting arrest. He still shouldn't have been beaten that bad.

I'm going to to have to disagree with Austin, the police didn't have to use that kind of force to take a man down, there are plenty of other ways they could have handled the situation and i believe they were way out of line and race took a major role in the beating.

Stacy Koon descibes what is necessary for a cop to keep peace. The cop is allowed to exceed the force of the criminal. That being said the cops were allowed to use force against King in that he was not following the orders of the cops. But I still believe that the force they used was to much. They could of pinned King to the ground and cuffed him, not beat him to an inch of his life.

I believe Rodney King was innocent because the story Stacey Koon said was completely different story then what King said. The fact the Koon said that King had enough force to push all four police officer out of the way is not possible for a man Kings size to do that and that the offficers had to use tazers, batons and chokeholds on one man doesn't make sense.

I believe that rodney king had excessive force used on him because he was laying on the ground defenseless and they just kept woopin on him

I think that the police used correct force to take him down because he got out of his car and walked toward the police. I do think that the police went too far by beating him afterwards.

i believe that they were justified on force in the beginning part of the arrest but they were unjustified afterwards for the improper and inhuman beating
